Most food items have regular plural and definite forms. Here are the exceptions:

чай (tea):

  • The definite form is чаят when it is the subject of the sentence and чая when it is the object.
  • The plural is чаеве and the numeral plural чая.

яйце (egg):

  • plural: яйца
  • definite plural: яйцата
