In English there are 2 types of articles:

  • Definite
  • Indefinite There is no definite article in Bulgarian:
  • “жена” and “куче” are used alone to refer to “a woman” and “a dog”:
  • “Ту е жена” - She is a woman
  • “Аз имам куче” - I have a dog
